Monica Morris, LPC, ATR-P, Licensed Professional Counselor

Monica Morris is a Licensed Professional Counselor and provisionally-licensed Art Therapist. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Her career planted its roots in the non-profit arts sector, where she worked in small museums, community art studios, and higher education. To deepen her interests in art for social change, Monica moved to the Midwest to pursue her goal of becoming an art therapist. She received her Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2020.

Monica enjoys working with folks across the life span, ranging from teens to older adults. She has worked in inpatient settings, such as inpatient psychiatric units, residential rehab, and medical rehabilitation. In recent years, Monica has focused her work in outpatient settings, in community mental health and now, private practice. She has extensive experience treating co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. She has also supported clients through a variety of life transitions, such as school and college stress, career changes, marital issues, and identity or cultural concerns.

Billing under the supervision on Mariette Champagne, LCSW, Monica is an in network provider for the Blue Cross & Blue Shield PPO network.

Personal Statement

Connection is an essential part of change. As an art therapist, I view the therapeutic relationship as a core foundation we build together. My counseling style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth, inviting curiosity and creativity into each session. Drawing from a strengths-based and person-centered approach, our work will center on your values and the changes you want to make in your life.  Together, we can envision new paths and possibilities to help you navigate difficult times, while ensuring that you feel supported and celebrated along the way.
