Kayleen Kuhn

Kayleen Kuhn, LCPC, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

I know taking the plunge into therapy can feel scary…you are not alone! So many of us have held ourselves back from receiving the quality care we deserve. You have come so far, and it is time to prioritize you! If you are looking for a warm, unconditional, and potentially even non-traditional approach to therapy, you have come to the right place. As your therapist, my number one goal is to curate an empowering therapeutic environment fit to your unique needs. Through my warm energy, goofy sense of humor, and passion for your health, I aim to make therapy a safe place to be your authentic self. I recognize each of my clients are unique beings with unique experiences. Your therapeutic care deserves to have the same consideration. I have helped clients deepen their knowledge of themselves, strengthen their coping skills, express their personal values, tap into their strengths, and accomplish their therapeutic goals.

My international background and training at Northwestern University have provided a unique foundation and training to aid you with your needs. I assess your concerns from a holistic lens, factoring in your history, physiological experiences, thoughts, emotions, relationships, work, culture, strengths, and future goals. Our work together is done collaboratively and creatively to empower and stretch you toward your goals. I often utilize non-traditional approaches such as somatic interventions, art therapy, and other creative tools that go above and beyond the classic “talk therapy”.

My passion for non-traditional approaches developed from my own unique cultural upbringing and desire to support diverse communities. As a result, I have specializations in working with clients of multicultural backgrounds, expats/nomads, Immigrants, and Adult Third Culture Kids (TCKs), life transitions, dating, career exploration, creative minds, anxiety and stress management, ADHD, identity development, and emerging adults.

Fun Facts:

  • I was born in the Netherlands and have moved on average every 3 years.
  • I am a huge lover of anything creative – I particularly love sewing and singing!
  • Contrary to popular opinion, I actually really enjoy putting together Ikea furniture.
  • Proud cat mom of 3, and yes…I will happily show you pictures.
