About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, having obtained my Master’s Degree in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Loyola University in New Orleans. I work with clients of all ages but specialize in working with adolescents and children.
I build trust and rapport with my clients by encouraging open and honest communication, and with my child clients by creating a safe space for meaningful self-expression through play therapy. I see therapy as a collaborative process, and work to create an alliance with my clients that can enable us to develop meaningful goals and work together to meet those goals.
I have worked with clients across the lifespan and have deep respect for the myriad of ways that individuals approach the challenges that emerge in the different phases of their lives. I love witnessing how the worldviews of kids and adolescents evolve, and what they learn about themselves in the therapeutic space we create together. I have found that typically, when given the chance, they find a way to shape that space into something that reflects and addresses their needs.
I make use of play therapy with kids 12 and under. For all ages, I draw from narrative, cognitive behavioral (CBT), dialectical behavior (DBT), and person-centered therapies. The integration of these approaches provides a lens through which I can understand their concerns, their solutions to those concerns, and a framework through which to understand the obstacles they face in their life.
