Taylor Yrigoyen, LCPC, CADC, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor

Taylor Yrigoyen is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor who provides individual and family therapy for adolescents, young adults, and adults. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling from Adler University.

Prior to entering private practice, Taylor worked as a group and individual therapist at Compass Health Center where she helped young adults transitioning from adolescence to adulthood by teaching specific coping skills to promote stabilization and improve overall functioning. She also worked closely with clients to assess school readiness. Taylor has also worked at a residential rehabilitation facility, a college counseling wellness center, and Chicago Public Schools.

Personal Statement:

I believe that we all have the tools within ourselves to grow and heal. Using a relational, holistic approach, I help clients discover those tools and make meaningful, authentic choices. I provide a warm, empathic, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel open to self-exploration. Through our work together, I help clients utilize their strengths, develop insight into their struggles, and explore their values to find peace and balance within. I believe that developing self-acceptance also helps us better connect and communicate with those around us. I recognize that while the process of change can be challenging and uncertain, it is also empowering and fulfilling.
