Personal Statement
I have found that many people have preconceived notions about what the word “therapy” means.  Whether it was something they saw in a television show or movie, or stories they had heard from friends about their experiences, oftentimes, people are uncomfortable with the idea of seeing a therapist.  My treatment style and approach was developed with these things in mind.  I believe treatment is most effective in an empathetic, supportive, and relatable environment.

My main strength is my ability to work with adolescents and adults that have either never been to therapy before, or those who have had a bad experience with it in the past.  I am passionate about helping individuals overcome challenging transitions in their lives, recognizing and reversing harmful thought patterns, and using narrative techniques to help increase awareness and insight.  Working together to form a therapeutic space that is completely personalized and comfortable is the first step.
